The Peanut Gallery
Shannon and Beatrice are constant presences in Yasu's brain, but since I want to keep spoilers like "this major character appearing in Episode 1 is Yasu's imaginary friend" and "Beatrice used to be an absolute fashion disaster" from showing up in tags, I'll be posting their commentary and advice here with a link to the relevant tag.
THE PREFECT
BEATRICE: You are a suck-up.
YASU: Am not.
BEATRICE: Are too! Do you hear what you're saying? Weren't you looking forward to a vacation from your duties?
YASU: Well, um...
BEATRICE: Honestly! If nothing else, she seems like a distinctly unpleasant person to be around. Like if that brat Jessica didn't bother trying to be nice.
YASU: D- Don't insult milady like that!
SHANNON: Hm... if nothing else, she's the closest thing to a manager that we have. It's probably a good idea to take the initiative.
YASU: See, Shannon agrees with me.
BEATRICE: Of course she does.
Beatrice then blows a raspberry at Shannon.

SHANNON: If nothing else, it seems like you've found someone who likes to read as much as you, hm?
Questioning the Sheep
BEATRICE: Doesn't this seem a bit...
YASU: ...odd?
BEATRICE: I'll lead, then. As always.
YASU: I'll follow.
BEATRICE: It's quite simple, my friend. I took the liberty of enrolling you someplace where your talents would be appreciated. And look, there's magic all around! Isn't this a lovely first day?
YASU: But that isn't... right, is it?
BEATRICE: How do you mean? Obviously everyone here is adjusting to the new school, same as you! I'd wager that this place opened recently, even with its prestigious reputation.
YASU: That doesn't make sense, though! All the rooms have clearly been used at some point.
BEATRICE: Pah. I simply had a bit of fun while I was waiting for you to arrive.
YASU: It's not just that... how do I...
YASU: This part I'm playing. With the blond hair. It doesn't fit right. Like... a costume that has a few seams loose.
YASU: Part of me keeps thinking that there's a script that this body is supposed to stick to, and that the hair is a few centimeters longer than it's supposed to be.
YASU: If I was "supposed" to be walking around with my hair like this, then... there should've been some more room for my eyes, right?
YASU: And there's that feeling I got when I just woke up, and...
BEATRICE: So, my friend. The question you should be asking isn't, "How did we get here?"
YASU: It's "how long have we been here."
